Well... it's only been a year! SO WHAT????

You know me... I dive into so many new things that I can't keep up with them!

Many things have changed since my last post (he he, in August of last year). Scrapbooking is still going great... old friends and new faces! I love the new catalog design and our club project rotation seems to be working out great!



Our daughter started preschool last week and is loving it! She is growing so fast! I still feel so blessed and grateful that God allowed us to care for one of His children.



And... my latest dive is photography! I am not great but I am enjoying trying and learning! I don't have a clue and they canceled my class at HCC :( So I am learning by doing. We will see how long it lasts... as you well know, I jump from one thing to another... jack of all trades but master of nothing! ha! I am thinking about pottery classes next! LOL

Woooohooooooo!!

OK!! I am just itching to tell y'all about my summer sale experience! I am excited about getting the good deals, but hellooooo! I was online for 2 hours. I knew it would be crazy... didn't I tell you it would be crazy? Craaaaazzzzyyyyyyyy!! Craziness aside, I got most of what I wanted. I thought the stamp sets would be the first to go. Low and behold, they are still available... even the $2 ones. I refreshed, back-buttoned, added more than I wanted by accident and dared not delete or edit. I was afraid the system would overload before I could get my order thru. Then things became available again that were supposed to be gone, gone, gone! (You know I'm singing the song : ) The paper packs were gone like hotcakes (or in my case any cake, cookie or other food item). I got on our bulletin board to see what people were saying and, of course, many were griping that people were "buying bulk" and not saving for the rest of the people. Again I say, hellllloooooooo!! That is just the way the cookie crumbles! I don't expect to be the one to get the hot after thanksgiving day sales, but I go for the fun and possibility that I will get SOMETHING!!! Whatever! I didn't buy bulk. I don't even know what I bought. I am like Stacey... I was getting desperate to get ANYTHING so I got things I didn't even want. That is a serious-shopaholic-good-deal-getter-just-cause-it's-on-sale problem right there! (See you at the meeting later)
So, to all of you who tried and gave up or tried and survived... THANK YOU for your support and I hope you enjoy your loot!!!!

Soot Stamping Tutorial

This is a neat little technique I learned from Beate Johns on SCS.

Items needed:
glossy cardstock
rubber brayer
ink
stamp, block
candle
acyrlic sealer


Step 1:
Ink up your brayer and roll color onto glossy cardstock until even.

Step 2:
Hold your cardstock over flame until covered with soot, being careful not to burn the edges. They catch fire easily!















Step 3:
Random stamp your desired image onto cardstock. I suggest cleaning stamp after every use to ensure clear images.


Step 4:
Spray acrylic sealer evenly over the entire piece of cardstock.

Emma and the butterfly

I just thought I would share these funny pix. The butterfly escaped her little hands and Emma had no idea it had gone to her head. She looked all over for it. The butterfly decided to stay put for about 20 minutes while she played in the pool. She loves butterflies!!!
